How To Track A Verizon Phone

Are you looking for an effective way to track a Verizon phone’s current location? Verizon Smart Family

One way on how to track phones, particularly Verizon phones is via Verizon Smart Family. It provides location services and parental controls for your family’s Verizon phones. This service is available through My Verizon’s website or via the Verizon Smart Family app. The app is available for Android phones via Google Play and iPhones via the App Store. While you can sign up in My Verizon, you would need to download the app to fully use the service.

To start using the service to track or find a family member’s Verizon Android phone or iPhone, simply:

• Open the Verizon Smart Family app on your iPhone or Android phone.
• Tap Get started.
• Key in your mobile number and My Verizon password then tap Sign in.
• Select your desired plan then tap next.
• Tap Agree to provide parental consent for the app to collect information that will help you track your child’s phone.
• Select the lines you want to add, tap Sign up then tap OK.
• Once signed up, you can download the Smart Family Companion app on your family members’ iPhones or Android phones that have a line on your wireless account. 
• You can now view the dashboard where you can access call and text activities, web app activities, and your child’s phone’s location among others. (Please note that you have to Upgrade to Verizon Smart Family Premium to find or track phone location.)

“Find My” iPhone

To track a Verizon iPhone, you can use the Find My iPhone app for iOS 12 and earlier) or the Find My app for iOS 13 and later.

Find My iPhone will help track your stolen or lost device or simply track an iPhone. You can see the target iPhone on a map effectively letting you track its location. To set it up simply:

• Tap Settings > [name] > iCloud.
• Scroll to the bottom then tap on Find My iPhone.
• Slide to turn on Find My iPhone and Send Last Location.
• If you are prompted to sign in, simply enter the Apple ID.

The Find My App combines the Find My iPhone and Find My Friends into one app and helps better track a device. To set it up, simply:

• Tap on the Settings app then tap on [name].
• Tap Find My.
• Turn on Share My Location so that family and friends can track the iPhone’s location.
• Turn on Find My Network to see the device when it’s offline.
• Turn on Send Last Location to have the location sent to Apple when the battery is low.

Please note that Location Services must be turned on to find the target device on a map.

Find My Device

If you want to track a Verizon Android phone, you can do so using Find My Device. This will help you track the location, or even lock and erase an Android device. To set it up, simply:

• Go to Apps > Settings > Google > Google Services.
• To allow the Android device to be tracked remotely, tap on a location and make sure that the switch is on the ON position.
• Tap on Security.
• Turn on Remotely locate this device.
• Turn on Allow remote lock and erase.

Take note that to track an Android phone it must be turned on and connected to mobile data or Wi-Fi. The Android phone must also be signed in to a Google Account and be visible on Google Play. As previously mentioned, the Android phone must also have Location and Find My Device turned on for its location to be tracked.
